This is my 19th year at Northwestern School. I have spent most of my years in the second grade, but also spent 2 years in the music department and 1 year in the first grade. I am a graduate of Groton HS and Northern State University. My wife Amy and I have been married for 25 years and have five children who have either graduated from or currently attend Northwestern School. Amy runs a FULL daycare in our home. Jeanna is married to Forrest Cutler and they live in Ellendale, ND where she enjoys working at the Nursing Home there. They are having their first baby in December, SO I GET TO BE A GRANDPA!!!!! Zachary is in the Marines and currently is stationed in Hawaii, and is currently deployed to Japan and Australia. He will hopefully be home for Christmas. Darby is a Junior at Northern State University in Aberdeen studying to be a teacher. Moira is a Freshman at USD this year studying Business Management and Human Resources. And Ezekiel is a Senior at Northwestern. You might see him playing drums, football, basketball, running track, in the plays, or singing at school. You also can see him at the Groton DQ if you go on a Saturday or Sunday evening. As well as teaching at Northwestern, I also am the pastor at The Methodist Church here in Mellette.
Other Activities
I keep busy with other things at the school besides teaching.
MS Track
I coach Middle School track. Our practices are during the school day in the spring months. We usually have 6 meets for our season.
Volleyball
I coached volleyball at Northwestern from 2005-2015. I have coached at all levels from elementary through high school. I enjoy volleyball and still find ways to coach and help out today.
Basketball
I coached basketball my first 7 years at Northwestern. I coached the boys and girls my first year and then the girls through the 2006-2007 season.
